......................................And three days from now Dec18, Ginevive and her whole family will be flying to Cebu, Philippines for a long deserved vacation, I think that would around 4 months. So see you Ginee and your family in Cebu come February 2011........

Happy Birthday, my dear friend GINEE.........

Venue: The SILVER TOWER Restaurant

My good friend, GINEVIVE ANTIGUA-LOUW celebrating herbirthday................................
......................Before I almost forget I wanna share here in my posting, the birthday celebration of my good friend Ginee, as she is fondly called, last Thursday December 09 2010 evening. It was kinda an intimate dinner birthday given by Ginee to her close circle of family friends here in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - Jubail City.................................................
I, and with my brother - Roy and his family too were invited by Ginee to grace her birthday celebration..... Eversince Ginee and I have been friends here in Jubail in 2006, and as far as I can recall, this is the first time that I think she ever celebrated her birthday outside of their family abode in the Garden Village housing accomodation. Because she normally prefers her birthday celebration be in the confines of her house and within the privacy of their home with her friends, cum ala party with music and dancing.....sometimes.
.................................Although this time, I guessed, she chose to be outside their home. And with her close circle of family friends. With us were another Filipino family, that of Ross Valerio & his family. Then there's Ginee's sister & family, also her 2 other male cousins, 2 other Filipina friends with their own respective families, too.

AKIHIRO SATO......"my bet" Survivor Philippines Winner

8pm Saudi time now, 07 Dec 2010 Tuesday, In my house Jubail

Well now, am a bit ecstatic because as what I have previously bet and made known here in my previous posting, AKIHIRO SATO became and was declared the very first winner of SURVIVOR PHILIPPINES Celebrity Edition reality contest.
The finals night telecast live last Dec 03 2010 (Friday) in GMA Pinoy TV, in a delayed telecast show, has shown somehow that the selection process on who's to be the winner was a close fight between the top 3 survivors, namely Akihiro, Solenn and Ervic.

Even though I already had an idea who was the winner, that is because by the time it is being shown here in the middle east through GMA PINOY TV at 10:30pm Saudi Arabia time, the winner was already registered online in the GMA News.TV.

Nonetheless, I - together with my brother and his family here in Saudi Arabia, still watched the entire happenings in GMA Pinoy TV hearing all the audiences' screams and clappings heard on the background while Richard Gutierez was hosting the show finale!
And what made the live finale telecast all the more exciting, was because as Richard has counted the first six votes of the 7-member jury, it turned out that it was a tripple tie amongst the top 3 contestantS; AKI, SOLENN and ERVIC.
So when the last, or 7th, vote was counted, indeed it was AKIHIRO SATO's name that was read and heard by the entire audiences, those in the studio, and all those avid watchers of the GMA PINOY TV cable around the world.
I am happy that finally, it was AKIHIRO SATO that won the first ever SURVIVOR PHILIPPINES Celebrity Edition.
And there you have it friends, relatives and the reading public, one of my bet(s), as I have told here previously in my posting, have won.
Congratulations to you, AKI.....

The 16th ASIAN GAMES...............Philippines?

Even how big it may seem your fighting spirit is, the fact of the matter on such highly competetive sports event as this ASIAN GAMES level, the gold medal standing is the key performance indicator.

And just look at the medal tally from this just concluded 16th ASIAN GAMES, and you can explain to yourself how the Philippine contingent fared.

On my opinion its performance this year is far less good compared to the last 15th ASIAN GAMES held in Doha, Qatar in year 2005 wherein the Philippines has garnered 4gold medal haul.

Oh dear, how I missed the heyday of the Philippines in sporting events as this ASIAN GAMES during the 80's and the 90's when the names of Lydia De Vega, Elma Muros and Isidro Del Prado banners the Philippines into fame with their athletics performances.

Definitely, when this year's contingent return home and go back to their drawing board, the different NSA's or National Sports Associations will do finger-pointing on the reasons of poor sports performance.

Look at the tally, and you'll find facts that out of the 9-member countries (Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos and Brunie) of the ASEAN region that competed in this ASIAN GAMES, the Philippines ranked only at 5th place. Just measely 1gold medal away from Myanmar.

How I wish, during this tenure of P-NOY's governance, he can produce in his period of administration some of the likes of Lydia De Vega, Elma Muros and Isidro Del Prado in the field of sports to compete in the world arena of athletics.

I strongly believe that combination of genuine patriotism, sports discipline, self-sacrifice, spiritual forebearance and government financial support program with grass-roots level training, the Philippines can again produce world class athletes and not just mediocre ones politicized by NSA's.

The 16th ASIAN GAMES...........Philippines?

5pm Saudi time now, Dec 05 2010, Sunday, In my house Jubail KSA

By this time of December in the Philippines, all Filipinos are focused in their respective Christmas season preparations.
Surely I can bet no one cares anymore about the "not soooo good" performance of the Philippine contingent to the recently concluded 16th Asian Games held in Guangzhou, China for the last 2 weeks of the month of November.
I have actually been reading the proceedings of the different sporting events in this year's 16th Asian Games, through the cable television "GMA Pinoy TV" I have here at home that has a channel CCTV China giving news about this quadrennial sporting event.

This is of course in addition to news i read through the ARAB NEWS internet. And with these sources of updates, I always try looking for the performance of the Philippine contingent. But unfortunately, Filipino athlete entered into the different sporting events are defeated by their fellow athletes that came into the event even more prepared, well trained, well fed, and more powerful. Hence, the Filipino athlete came falling donw one after the other, just like the falling domino chips in the board game.

In fairness, though, am sure even the Filipino athletes did not fared well on the medal standing, each competing athlete has its own figthing spirit propelled him or her into competing.

My friend - Gineevive, Cobus' better-half........

It's almost 12 midnight, 30 Nov 2010

'Fellas, before I completely missed it out, on this posting of mine, and as in support to my friend's Cobus' tribute, I'm including into this posting - a lovely photo of Cobus and wife Ginee.

If you'll ask me where did I get the phot, well I grab it from the hundred something photos of Gineevive and family that is stored in Ginee's FACEBOOK account. That is because Ginee is in my circle of friends inside my FB account.
There you have it, the lovely pair. Surely this will complete my form of tribute to a colleague and friend of mine, Mr. Cobus!

A Tribute........to a colleague and friend!!!

6:00pm Saudi time now, 30 Nov 2010 Monday, In my House-Jubail K.S.A.

Well, dear friends, relatives and the reading public, this is my first time here in my blogspot that I'll be giving some space for some form of a tribute to a colleague of mine here in Saudi Arabia - in the company where I have been working for since September of 2006.

Aside from the Filipino colleagues and friends I have built friendly ties here, this person was one of those Caucasian colleagues here in TASNEE that I would lay claim to have build somehow a friendship.

Througout the four years I was then under the Logistics Dept. of TASNEE, because now I was transferred into a different dept.-Technical, we had our days of arguments, and days of peace. But in totality, I could say that my dealing with Cobus was happy, sad, cool, intelligent, angry, cooperative and sometimes nasty!

Now that he (Cobus), has been promoted into a higher position, I would like to congratulate him for being the Superintendent-Logistics Operations.

And for the record, maybe the reason why he seems to be friendly or amiable to Filipinos, here in TASNEE in particular, is because he is married to a pure blooded Filipina from Cebu. My good friend, Ginevive Antigua-Louw.

That perhaps is why, Cobus has already imbibe in his ways and body system - the good traits of the Filipino culture! Right, Ginee?

And SHE is...........

And now, my other bet is a woman. I bet that Solenn can and should win the choice of being proclaimed the first winner of Celebrity Edition of the SURVIVOR PHILIPPINES.
Yes, she has not won any of the rewards and any of the immunity challenges that had happened in the 36days of this SURVIVOR PHILIPPINES reality tv show.

But, modesty aside, she has not build hatred amongst her co-survivor contestants, I believe.

Also she did her best to keep afloat and be alive to reach and be among the top four remaining survivor contestants. This is because, I believe she has strategized.
So there you have it, my own personal views on who's going to win, and who I think should win. And before I forget, from the information I have gathered, SOLENN happens to be half-Filipina. Because her Mom is a pure blooded Pinay who married a Frenchman, the fahter of Solenn.
And here, am just sharing to you all, this piece of information here in my blogspot.

My bet(s) in the SURVIVOR PHILIPPINES Celebrity Edition

As you may see on my below posting I started on SURVIVOR PHILIPPINES, I have my personel bet(s) from whom I guess will emerge the winner.

I specifically chose 2 bets, a man, and a woman. Because I strongly believe that 2 persons I am placing my bet on, is with the much lesser "hate" feeling that audiences may have against.

AKI is one of my bet(s). However, honestly, one hindrance I may see is his being a non-Filipino blood. But everything, else especially a number times he has won immunity and reward challenges in the reality show, is and can be accorded to his luck in winning.

SURVIVOR PHILIPPINES Celebrity Edition

9pm Saudi time now, 28 Nov 2010 Sunday

By this time now, most of the Filipinos who have been following the GMA TV show "Survivor Philippines" must have been excited already to know who the lucky winner will be chosen and come out indeed lucky to win the 3rd edition of this franchised "SURVIVOR" tv show.
He or she is really would be lucky to win the reality contest. And that comes with the 3million pesos prize money and the prestige that goes with the title of "Survivor Philippines" Celebrity edition.
I, for myself has been following this reality show here in Saudi Arabia through my subscription of the GMA Pinoy TV cable channel. And this is where i have grab some of the photos associated with the show that i posted here in my blogspot.
